About

I spent my impressionable years living in Seattle, where I began shooting for local newspapers; The Rocket and Seattle Weekly, and local record label; Sub Pop. Musicians being the majority of work, I naturally wondered about life on the road and intrigued by the sacrifices made. This is what led to jumping into vans, then buses, with bands like The Blood Brothers, The Refused, Warpaint, and Broken Social Scene. The opportunity to see and document the genuine, candid moments music fans don't see is what kept me on the road for over 8 years. Realizing a band takes their tour manager around the world with them, that's the role I took. I've also traveled strictly as the photographer, capturing what happens on and off-stage rather than being responsible for it. You can see some of the bands I've toured with in the "on the road" section. When a person lets down their guard and truly forgets my camera is around is the most sincere compliment. I'm currently spending most of my time in Los Angeles.
I've included photographs from some of my first tours - with the Blood Brothers and The Locust.
